Our Journey (Post 1)

September 26, 2012

Our journey with cancer has begun.   Shell-shocked, we never expected this diagnosis.   That fateful Friday morning will forever be etched in my memory as Dr. Campo came into our room and said the words, “You have cancer.”    Yet, even in the midst of that awful moment and in the middle of the many more to come...we have felt God’s presence there.   Right there with us, not as an on-looker...as a inner strength that says “you are not alone in this...I AM with you”.

I’m certain that as I continue to blog about our journey, you will see every side of who I really am.   My fears, my doubts, my hopes, my dreams, my screams...I will attempt to put it all on paper.    But what I really desire is that when you read this, you don’t see me, that you see My God at work in me.

We are praying and believing God for a miracle in Jeff’s body.   We ask that all our friends and family do the same.  Please don’t give up!    And please, give God the glory at every opportunity in this journey.   I am confident that He wants to use this to touch someone.   To lead a lost soul to Him.    My friends, will you do us the honor of glorifying Christ in ALL THINGS...even in cancer.     We are choosing to believe the report of the Lord, which by the way says that NOTHING can come against us that He doesn’t allow.   Sometimes that is a hard pill to swallow, but I take courage in knowing that the God I serve is sovereign and good.    He is in this with us and we will not encounter one single trial without Him by our side.    I’ll take those odds any day!

God gave me this precious scripture today...I hope it blesses you as it did me!

Psalm 121
A song of ascents.

1 I lift up my eyes to the hills— where does my help come from?

2 My help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth.
3 He will not let your foot slip— he who watches over you will not slumber;

4 indeed, he who watches over Israel will neither slumber nor sleep.
5 The Lord watches over you— the Lord is your shade at your right hand;

6 the sun will not harm you by day, nor the moon by night.

7 The Lord will keep you from all harm— he will watch over your life;

8 the Lord will watch over your coming and going both now and forevermore.
